October 24th, 2004

Hope you all are keeping well!  Since our last letter a lot has happened, and this will also be my Nov 1st letter.

On October 2nd we went hiking and had a wonderful day.  We started the morning off not going because Ryley had a cold, so we didn't get ready at all.  When Ry did get up he was in a good mood and feeling well.  With half and hour to get on the road we decided to go.  You guessed it we ran late; we kept the group waiting about 30 minutes.  We could have been a little earlier if we had gone the right way.  The hike was fun with no real problems, except Ron had a little tumble down a small rock face.  Ryley was not on his back and he had another tumble when he stepped on a rotting piece of wood with Ryley on his back.  On the way home Ron discovered that he way missing his wedding ring.  He most likely lost it on the hike.  Ron has gotten another ring, quite a nice one.

Thanksgiving weekend we hardly stayed home.  Saturday we went down to Marlene's and had a nice visit.  Ryley still doesn't know what to make of Titus.  Sunday we went to Dorothy'.  Ryley loved their dog Kita and couldn't stay away from him.  On Monday it was to Grandma's for supper.  Ryley was very tired after Thanksgiving weekend.

Last weekend we started curling.  I'm on an all chick team and we kicked butt against the first team we played.  Ron had a bye for the first week of curling.  He did spare for a team but they lost.  I have a spare this weekend, so I'll stay home and play with Ryley.  Grandma will bring him up to watch us curl a few times this year.

We went shopping for Ryley's first winter boots, what a time we had trying to get the boots on in the store.  Ryley is still wearing a size 4 runner, so we thought a size 5 boot would work but just couldn't get it on in the store.  Size 6 looks way to big, so we bought the 5's and they fit fine when he can step into them but fall off way to easily.  Now he gets his boots and brings them to me when he wants to go outside.  He loves the snow and being pulled around on his sled.  It is a little hard for him to walk in snow.

Talk to you all later
Love from Jennifer and Family
