November 23rd, 2004
Hope everyone has been doing great since our last letter. Things have been a little busy around here lately so we are a little late in getting this one out.
On Friday November 12th Ron checked his work e-mail and found out he was supposed to be in Europe on Monday morning. There had been some talk about this on Wednesday, but Ron didn't think anything would come of it. He spent most of Friday trying to organize travel. He found out he was going to be going to Milton Keynes (about 60 miles northwest of London). Ron arrived at Heathrow on Monday morning and met up with Allan from Michigan. They headed into London that afternoon and took the bus tour of London and had a bite to eat in the local pub. After that they headed to Milton Keynes.
Ron spent the next 4 days working in Milton Keynes and had a great time. They managed to go out and have some great food and beverages every night. They had a rental car and had a great time driving there. They managed to stay on the right (left) side of the road and handled the round-abouts very well. On Friday afternoon they returned to Heathrow and spend Friday night in London. They walked around downtown London and caught a half price show. They went to see Fame in a very old theater. It was very enjoyable. Afterwards they walked around a little more - you wouldn't believe the number of people out at 11:30pm in London. It was like downtown Calgary in the middle of summer at lunch, but at night. Ron had a great trip, but would have liked to have had a little more time to sight see.
Ryley had his first dentist appointment on November 12th. He is seeing the same dentist Dad saw from about 5 until 18, and the same dentist Uncle Randy still sees. All is well with his mouth and teeth - everything is coming in as expected and there is no decay.
We have been curling for 6 weeks now and we are at opposite ends of the standings. Jennifer's team is in 4th place and Ron's team is in 13th (out of 14 teams). It looks like Ron's team may win the "bone" this year.
We have started checking out a new church in our area. We decided that the amount of time we spend commuting to Eastside Community Baptist Church is affecting how often we attend. The new church is about a 3 minute drive from our home and is very similar to Eastside. We are going to miss the people at Eastside, but if we attend more often it will be worth the change.
We have started to get the Hep A and B vaccines for our trip to Costa Rica. Now we have to start tanning so we are ready for the sun. We are starting to get a little more excited about going away.
Ryley has a new web site with more pictures and information on it. You can now find him at www.ryleylewis.com. Dad will be updating the site with his trip pictures shortly.
Hope everyone has a great week
I will include a few London pictures for everyone
Love Ron, Jennifer & Ryley
