Hi Everyone,

Time for another Lewis update...

Once again it has been too long between updates and we have had another busy month.  We were on vacation for the first two weeks of July and kept ourselves very busy.  We went to the zoo twice, Butterfield Acres (the farm), Heritage Park, the Calgary Stampede, Edmonton and the lake.

We finally got up to Edmonton to see Kaden's new brother.  We had a nice visit, a good play at the park and a nice meal at Moxies.  Travon was very cute and a fairly typical 2 month old.  Kaden is growing into a little boy just like Ryley.  The two of them got along really well and had a good time visiting.  On the drive over to the restaurant Ryley talked about Cousin Kaden the whole way; when we got there we found out Kaden talked about Ryley the whole way.  The drive up was a little longer than Ryley would have liked, but we made it and enjoyed ourselves.

We went with Grandma to Heritage Park to see all the old buildings, horses and rides.  Ryley wasn't overly interested in the old buildings, but he enjoyed the animals and the wagon ride.  The highlight had to be all the rides we could go on.  We went on the trolley car to get to the park, the SS Moyie (the half scale ship of a paddle wheeler from BC) on the reservoir and rode the old steam train.  As much fun as all that was the highlight had to be the antique midway.  He went on the 'whip', the carousel, the swing and the Ferris wheel.  He really enjoyed any ride that left your stomach behind or threw you around.

The Stampede was a very busy place for him.  He got to sit in a military helicopter and jeep.  The helicopter was one of the most exciting exhibits at the Stampede.  We spent some time looking at the midway and playing with the animals.  We then went to see the 'Super Dogs.'  Ryley wasn't as interested as we thought he would be, but he did enjoy the jumping and especially liked visiting with the dogs afterwards.

Over the past month we have been to the water park many times and Ryley has a great time running through the water.  He really likes Dad to carry him through the bigger waterfalls.  We also went to the lake while we were on vacation and Ryley had a good time playing in the water and the sand.

Ryley got a new bike.  We bought him a two wheeler with training wheels as there seemed to be a shortage of tricycles that were not Barbie.  He enjoys riding his bike and riding on the back of Dad's bike.  He is starting to get the hang of peddling, but it is going to take a while until that is working well.

Diapers may be getting closer to going away.  Ryley has started going potty at night.  He has gone every night for the past week and a half, except one day.  Aunt Catherine made him a special pooh cake the other night.  Right now we think it is mostly just habit, but we are on our way now.

We are all running again.  Jennifer wants to train to run a half marathon next spring, so we have a long way to go.

We'll include a bunch of pictures of the past month...

Love Ron, Jennifer and Ryley
